Summer Activities
We offer weekly trail rides for groups of up 9 people during the summer season of 2020.
If you ride with us for more than two days, you can participate in hands-on ranch work and cattle drives, i.e., trailing cows between their different pastures. When we’re not working with the cattle, we ride out on lovely mountain trails on our strong and gentle Quarters, Warmbloods and Cold-blooded horses.
Day trails
We ride up into the mountains when the snow has gone, and offer half day/full day trail rides in the spring, summer, and fall. Riders of any ability are welcome and catered for. All of our horses are gentle and steadfast trail horses, and the excursions are planned to match your ability and previous riding experience. (Please find our prices below.)
A forest trail for everyone
A different trail along the stream Norrveman. Through wetlands and woods. A perfect trail for anyone with little or no previous riding experience. Really nice and relaxing! Approximately 1 ½ hours, SEK 600.
Forest trail with coffee and refreshments–“fika”
On this trail the horses take us through the woods and streams surrounding the pastures and the cattle herders’ huts in the valley. We brew traditional Swedish coffee over a campfire and enjoy it with refreshments. 2-3 hours. SEK 1,100, including “fika”.
The Peak trail, 1,023 meters above sea level, 7 hours
For those who want an experience out of the ordinary.
Our North Swedish horses take us across sticks and stones up to the peak of Oxsjövålen which is just over 1,000 meters above sea level. Up there we can enjoy panoramic views of several other mountain peaks. The trail then takes us to the lake Oxsjön where we prepare our lunch together over the camp fire.
Approximately 6-8 hours, SEK 1,800 including lunch
Multi-day trails with overnight stays
We start our multi-day excursion at the Ranch and ride up to the mountains for the day from there. We cook food over a campfire, and enjoy traditional Swedish brewed coffee, before riding up above the tree line. The horses take us over sticks and stones, through a wilderness that has no roads or tracks, until we reach our base camp at Näsvallen in the afternoon, where basic accommodation in cabins awaits us.
We eat our dinner in the ride camp, where we cook food together on the campfire. You can enjoy the warm hot tub and/or the sauna after dinner. After that, in the lovely, light summer night, you get to rest in a prober bed. The next morning, we ride back up the mountain to enjoy stunning scenery and good teamwork with our horses. If you ride with us for more than two days, you’ll have the option of participating in some hands-on work at the Ranch. You can join one of our wonderful cattle drives, when we move our free-roaming cows between their different pastures. You can find the prices for our overnight trails under the section Our Ranch Weeks.
